Assist in field surveys, operate advanced equipment, and collect accurate data for various surveying projects.

    • Monday-Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
    • Occasional Saturdays on an as needed basis

Essential Functions

  • Ability to maintain the seven core values of Precision Surveying & Consulting.
  • Able to set up GPS and Robotic Total Station or 3D Scanner
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions.
  • Familiar in boundary surveys and construction layout.
  • Developed organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical labor (i.e., strenuous walking, and lifting catch basin grates/manhole covers, hauling equipment) and physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing excavations, trenches, structures, and other disturbed areas; Capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience including topographic, construction staking, boundary, and data collection is a plus.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions accurately.
  • Familiar with boundary surveys and construction layout
  • Familiar with the different types of equipment needed for the job at hand.
  • Developed organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various survey equipment (GPS, Robotics, and Total Stations)
  • Discuss with crew chief what equipment will needed first and to foresee needed requirements and get set up and ready.
  • Proper storage of all equipment when not in use.
  • Learn the different requirements to help perform the different types of surveying.
  • Communicate with the crew chief about duties for the day and be prepared to help.
  • Learn how to prepare for the type of surveying required for the day.
  • Ability to work as a team with Crew Chief, be self-motivated, and organized.
  • Ability to read a tape measure using 100th of a foot graduation.
  • Ability to calculate measurements of standard inches to 100th of a foot survey measurement which is our standard measurement of use.
  • Ability to help run Level loops and understand process.
  • Know proper note taking format.
  • Know basic math to determine elevations.
  • Know how to peg test level for maintenance check.
  • Possess communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients.
  • Be attentive and listen to what the client's needs are.
  • Person responsible for loading/unloading equipment for the day.
  • Making sure batteries are charged and ready to go.
  • Making sure the truck is always stocked and ready for the day/week.
  • Communicating needs to Crew Chief/Survey manager.
  • Keeping truck clean and organized with equipment put away into proper storage when not in use.
  • Attend required company training programs.
