Land Survey Omaha
Construction Surveys
Construction surveying or building surveying (otherwise known as “lay-out” or “setting-out”) is to stake out reference points and markers that will guide the construction of new structures such as roads or buildings. These markers are usually staked out according to a suitable coordinate system selected for the construction project. A construction surveyor is one of the first professionals on the job. They take measurements of the area and advise architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the entire project.
CONSTRUCTION SURVEYORS ARE VERY PRECISE
They have to be. Their measurements pinpoint the exact location where an underground tunnel, road or bridge begins and ends. When building a factory, business park or housing development, they also determine the location for running water, sewer, phone and power lines. Construction surveyors aid in rebuilding projects. For example, after Hurricane Katrina and the San Francisco earthquake, construction surveyors were needed to help reconstruct damaged existing buildings, roads and bridges.
